Overview
This half-day drive from Halls Gap is suitable for people with tight deadlines. It includes many of the Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park's most famous sites. From Halls Gap, follow Mount Victory Road past the Elephants Hide to the top of the range. Turn right to the spectacular Boroka Lookout for views across Halls Gap and the Mount William and Wonderland Ranges. The walk from the car park is short, and suitable for people with limited mobility.
Victoria Valley views
Return to the main road and continue to Reed Lookout. Views from the car park over the Victoria Valley are inspiring. The formed walking track to the Balconies climbs gently from the car park through rock outcrops and a Stringybark forest. Allow 30-45 minutes.
Make it to Mackenzie Falls
Return to the Mount Victory Road, turn left and after a few kilometres turn right to Mackenzie Falls. You have the choice of a steep climb down to the base of the falls (allow an hour return) or a trail that follows the top of the ridge line for views down across the falls. Again, return to Mount Victory Road, returning to Halls Gap.
