Overview

If you haven’t already tried stand-up paddle boarding (SUP to those in the know) then you're missing out.

Depending on who you believe, SUP is either an offshoot of surfing that was developed in sixties Hawaii or an ancient Polynesian mode of transport. Either way, it's a lot of fun and has quickly become one of the fastest growing leisure sports in Australia.

With plenty of suitable ‘paddle’ spots across Melbourne, the Mornington Peninsula and the Great Ocean Road, not to mention local surfing schools that offer lessons to the uninitiated, there’s no better way to kick off this year’s summer holiday. So get out there and catch a wave, explore a calm river, or paddle out across reefs to watch the marine life.
