Botanic gardens and historic mansions

Visit botanic gardens that were planted over a century ago, walk through the modern arid gardens at Cranbourne's Royal Botanic Gardens, or explore the cool rainforest, fern gully and terraces of Frankston Botanic Gardens.

Stroll around the manicured gardens of old mansions and magnificent private grounds, many of which are open to the public year-round including The Briars Historic Park, Coolart Wetlands and Homestead, and Beleura House, built in 1863 and featuring a romantic Italian garden. Discover the regional heritage with heirloom flowers, fruit and vegetables at Heronswood, where you can sit in the magnificent garden to savour lunch cooked with produce fresh from the edible gardens.

Lose yourself

Twist and turn your way through huge garden mazes up and down peninsula. Explore the summertime rose maze at Ashcombe Maze and Lavender Gardens, walk through the bird-filled wetlands and gardens of Boneo Maze, or wander the themed gardens and ride the exhilarating tube slide at Arthurs Seat's Enchanted Maze Garden.
