Australian Sled Dog Tours
Australian Sled Dog Tours takes groups of up to four people in the snow at Mt Buller. Tours run for between thirty minutes and three hours, and include a snow sled ride, plus meet and greet time with the team of Siberian huskies and Dusty, the Australian kelpie.
Howling Husky Sled Dog Tours
Howling Husky run tours at Mt Hotham and Dinner Plain. They offer three different tour types, from short snow dashes to family-friendly adventures, winding through wilderness and backcountry trails. For a slower pace, let a retired sled dog take you on a fun showshoe walk.
Events
Plan your visit to the snow to coincide with the annual Dinner Plan Dog Sled Sprint. The race takes place over two days in August, when more than 350 sled dogs come to the village with over 80 mushers in tow. Watch two-dog to eight-dog teams dash through the snow for the fastest overall time.
You can also catch the Mt. Baw Baw Dog Sled Dash in September. Spread out over two days, watch on as experienced mushers tackle the steep ascent to the summit in a challenging test of endurance and stamina.
