Seafood and surf
Pick up fresh seafood in San Remo, or cross the bridge to the village of New Haven to catch your own. Take the kids to
Churchill Island, the site of Victoria's first European settlement, or visit the National Surfing Reserve on the south side of the island to surf big ocean swells at Summerland Beach, Cape Woolamai and Cat Bay.
Iconic wildlife
Stroll through the mangroves and spot native bird life around Rhyll Inlet, stand cheek to furry cheek with koalas at the Koala Conservation Centre or watch the penguins cross the sand at dusk at the famous penguin parade on Summerland Beach.

Cowes boasts calm northern beaches, perfect for splashing around with the kids and picnics in the sand. Follow it up with an ice cream and a wander through the myriad seaside cafes, pubs and restaurants. Join a boat tour to see the colony of fur seals and then head off to see the world famous Grand Prix circuit and catch major events like the Moto GP.
