Overview

Pitch a tent or park your campervan in the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges to make the most of your trip. Experience the scenic beauty of state and national parks, bush settings and clear mountain streams. Stay in a forest park or choose a holiday site with full facilities.

Delve deeper into the Dandenong Ranges and camp around Emerald and Gembrook, at Wombat Corner near Emerald Lake Park, Kurth Kiln Park and in Bunyip State Park. Take a torch and spot the nocturnal possums, owls, bats and gliders.

Camp at the well-serviced camping area, featuring electric barbecues, toilets, showers and fireplaces in Upper Yarra Reservoir Park. Swim and fish in crystal-clear rivers during the day, and look out for reclusive local wildlife at night.

Upgrade to a caravan or cabin and sleep in close proximity to Steavenson Falls at Marysville Caravan and Holiday Park.

Traditionally, people wishing to pitch a tent in the Yarra Valley have camped in Cathedral Range State Park and Kinglake National Park. Most campgrounds have some facilities, although not all have toilets. Contact Parks Victoria on 13 1963 for more information on facilities and periods of total fire ban.
