Tee off at the Barham Golf and Country Club – a par 72 layout, carved into a natural bush setting. To follow in the footsteps of pro golfer Stuart Appleby, play a round at the Cohuna Golf Course where the nine-time PGA champ spent his formative years. Alternatively, head to CluBarham on the NSW side of the twin towns to play on slick greens set in natural bushland.
Summertime transforms the Murray into a playground for the old and young alike. Join in the fun and revelry of River Daze in March, a music, wine and food extravaganza served up on the banks of the Murray River. Cycle the scenic riverside trails or take a drive out to the Kerang Lakes district, an area perfect for water-skiing, canoeing, wake boarding and swimming.
Cast a line for golden perch and Murray cod in the Murray or enjoy a picnic at the Barham Lakes Complex, four interconnected artificial lakes surrounded by grasslands, picnic facilities, a walking track and a swimming area with a beach.
Birds in the red gums
Make the most of the temperate climate by enjoying bush walks all year round. See the native wildlife that live among the red gums and wetlands of the Gunbower National Park. The Kerang Lakes district, boasting 57 lakes, is alive with hundreds of bird species and is a twitcher's favourite. Camp out under the starry night sky, watch the sun set over the water and wake to the sound of nature.

Wander along the tourist walkway at the Arbuthnot Sawmills, in operation since 1889 and get an understanding of the region's history on the Long Paddock Touring Route and the Backroads Trail. Sample local delicacies, hear Dreamtime stories and learn about the days of the early settlers.
